Each year during APA, Division 17 hosts a Hospitality Suite where business meetings, social events, and informal discussions are conducted. Students play a vital role in the operation of theHospitality Suite, serving in rotating volunteer shifts at the information table. Applications are now invited for student members of Division 17 to serve as volunteers for the Society of Counseling Psychology Hospitality Space at the 2016 American Psychological Association Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado. For their time, participants will receive an invitation to the SCP President’s Reception, as well as one free book (details to follow). Please find the descriptions of volunteer duties below. Volunteer Duties

The primary duties of the volunteers are to greet attendees, oversee the information tables, and direct attendees to the appropriate rooms for their events. Volunteers will be present to help manage the flow of people between sessions and to assist professional administrators in managing any challenges with the Hospitality Space.

Scheduling

Volunteers will be needed to fill slots from 8am to 5pm on August 4-6, and from 8am to 12pm on Sunday, August 7thBeing present during your volunteer time is vital to the functioning of the Hospitality Space. Once the volunteers are selected, you will have the opportunity to advise us of times when you are certain you will NOT be available. We will then create a volunteer schedule and distribute this for confirmation regarding your ability to be present during your assigned times. While some changes can be made later, we hope these will be minimal.
