Evelyn A. Hunter, Ph.D: 2019-2020
Evelyn A. Hunter, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling at Auburn University. She completed her doctoral work at Auburn University and her predoctoral internship at the Georgia Tech Counseling Center. Her research investigates health disparities (specific to social inequities/injustice) in mental and physical wellness constructs and ways in which themes of equity and justice intersect with psychology trainee competencies. Her past leadership experiences include serving as Co-Chair for the Subcommittee on Social Action, Chair Elect of the Section on Ethnic & Racial Diversity, and a member of the 2016 SCP Leadership Academy cohort. As a committee member, Evelyn is interested in broadening leadership training experiences for ECPs and ensuring equitable access to Division 17, including non-traditional avenues for ECPs to engage, serve, and lead within SCP.
