Introduction from the SCP Program Chairs
Mary Ann and I are excited to provide the Society’s program schedule for the American Psychological Association 2016 Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado. As one of the divisions with the most programming hours, we will have a total of 35 general sessions and 6 theme-based poster sessions (Research Methods, Measurement, and Evaluation; Mental Health and Wellbeing; Vocational and Career Development; Education and Training; Multicultural, Social Justice, and Advocacy; Counseling Interventions and Psychotherapy). In addition, our efforts to participate in the Collaborative Program initiative continue to be very successful, and Division 17 will participate in 19 collaborative sessions as either a primary or secondary division. We thank all of the submitters and reviewers who helped create this diverse and intellectually stimulating program. Please note that changes to session and event dates and times are still possible; thus, please check with the official APA program to ensure that you have the most accurate schedule.
We hope everyone has a wonderful time learning, networking, and catching up with friends, students, and colleagues in the Mile High City!

Using the APA Convention Smartphone App for SCP Programming
All official programming for Division 17 and all other divisions can be browsed and saved to your personal schedule via the APA Convention App*, available for Android and iPhone. A web browser version of the Convention App compatible with Windows operating systems is also available. The webmaster highly recommends trying out the App if you have a smartphone, but don’t forget that the App does not list SCP Hospitality Suite programming… please consult the SCP @ 2016 APA Convention Programming Guide for that programming information.
*The webmaster recommends opening the App, clicking on the “Sessions” icon, then selecting the following hierarchical menu item sequence to surf D17 programming by day: Browse by Division –> SponsorDiv –> Browse by Sub-Track –> 17. Click the “start” icon to save any and all interesting sessions to “My Schedule”, which you can later access from the home screen of the App. Please note that the hierarchical menu can lead you to dead-ends due to poor programming, so use the hierarchical menu sequence listed above for D17 sponsored programming. If you want to search all official Convention programming by day, click on the “session” icon, then select “Browse by Day”.

Logistical Advice for Getting from Denver Airport to Downtown Hotels/Convention Center
When you fly into Denver Airport (DEN), take the airport inter-terminal tram to the Baggage Claim and Ground Transportation terminal.
To get from the airport to the convention center area, the SCP Webmaster recommends taking the RTD Metro “A Train” from DEN toward Union Station in downtown Denver. It takes 37 minutes and costs $9 dollars.
Here’s how to get to the RTD Metro stop in the airport: Once you exit into the terminal, walk to your right and keep going until you see the huge American flag on the wall at the end of the terminal. Walk through the doors under that flag. Look for the escalator that goes down to the RTD Metro; go down it. Next, buy a ticket (cash, credit) from the machines on the right side of the platform. Be sure to print a receipt if you need to submit that receipt for reimbursement after Convention. The only train that leaves the airport RTD Metro station is the A train, so you don’t have to worry about getting on the wrong one.
Once you’ve arrived at the Downtown Denver stop called “Union Station” (the end of the A train line), exit the train and the station. At this point, you can either hop onto the free 16th Street MallRide bus that will take you from Union Station toward the downtown hotels you are likely staying at, or you can walk 20 minutes on foot to the downtown hotels.
