Thursday August 6th

6pm – Social Hour: SAG/CCPTP Student Poster Session (Intercontinental Toronto Centre Hotel, Lower Level, Ballroom A)

 8pm – At Last: A Wedding for Us All (Voglie Risto in Church Wellesley Village)

 This will be a legal wedding for those who are unable to marry in their home states and a chance for all of us who support marriage equality to come out and enjoy fabulous northern Italian dining, dancing, and a fun evening with colleagues. Tickets for the event will cost 50.00 per person and scholarships are available for students.  Friday August 7th

 9:00 to 9:50am – Rainbow Action Against Racism (MT Convention Center, Room 717B)

Panelists will discuss:
  1)     
How to take action/social justice/consciousness raising against racism in the LGBT community.
  2)
      Creating a safe space in the LGBT community for open dialogue about racism and creating a safe
    space for people of color and how to hear the voices that aren’t being heard through this safe space.

  3)     
Resistance from the LGBT community in talking about racism.
  4)     
LGBT Identity/Race/Ethnic Identity and how this and other multiple identity issues impact taking 
        action.

 11:00 to 12:00 – SLGBTI Executive Board Meeting (Suite 3)

 12:00 to 1:00pm – SLGBTI Business Meeting (Suite 3)

 Saturday August 8th

8:00 to 10:00am – Mentoring Social (Suite 1)

This social will include mentors discussing the following:

Issues surrounding GLBTQI Research in Counseling Psychology

Internship and Practica Issues
-         
Taking Action Against Racism Against LGBTQIA Communities

Jobs, the Job Market and Professional Development

1:00 – 3:00pm – Taking Action Against Racism in the Community:  (Suite 3)

                 What and How We Can Do Better

Janie Pinterits and James Croteau will lead this 2 hour discussion.
