REHABILITATION COUNSELING TRAINING PROGRAM
FALL 2008
The Department of
Counseling at San Francisco State University is a large,
comprehensive counselor education program with 18 full-time
equivalent faculty with over 300 students. The Department offers
six counseling specialty areas: Rehabilitation, School, Marriage
and Family, College, Career, and Gerontology. The Department is
accredited by CORE, CACREP, CCTC, and NCATE.
San Francisco State
University, a member of the California State University system,

Assistant Professor.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
Start Date:
Fall 2008.

Minimum requirements:
·
An earned doctorate
in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Psychology,
Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Counselor Education, or related
field.
·
Evidence of or
potential for scholarly productivity.
·
Evidence of or
potential for university teaching excellence in rehabilitation,
community and general counseling courses.
·
Ability to supervise
clinical work and advise graduate counseling students.
·
Certified
Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligibility for CRC.
Desired qualifications:
·
Rehabilitation
counseling experience.
·
Experience in
state/federal rehabilitation systems and/or non-profit/profit
rehabilitation systems.
·
Potential for program
and/or departmental leadership.
·
Experience in grant
writing or grant development.
·
Demonstrated
dedication to multicultural education (e.g., GLBT, ethnic groups,
class, and disability status).
Responsibilities:
·
Teach rehabilitation
and general counseling courses.
·
Participate in
community service and committee work at the departmental and
university levels as well as professional organization committees
and conferences.
·
Engage in scholarly
activity (e.g., research, publications, grants).
·
Participate in
community service.
