Radford University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Counseling
Psychology to:
1) Participate in the development of a
Psy. D. program in counseling psychology with an emphasis on rural
mental health and an integration of social justice throughout the
curriculum;
2) Teach graduate courses and supervise doctoral research in
counseling psychology;
3) Fulfill some undergraduate teaching responsibilities;
4) Engage in applied research with the potential for external
funding;
5) Devote some time to applied work on campus or in the community.
The applicant must be a graduate of an
APA approved program in counseling psychology and have completed an
APA-approved or APPIC-member internship and hold a Ph.D. or Psy. D.
Must be a licensed psychologist in VA or license eligible in VA.
Preferred qualifications include: experience teaching at an APA
accredited program in counseling psychology, some knowledge of or
experience with APA accreditation requirements and procedures, a
record of active research and grant funding, and interest or
practice in rural mental health.

Radford's Counseling Psy.D program has been approved by the Virginia
State Council of Higher Education and the Commonwealth legislature.
The first cohort of students will be enrolling in Fall 2008.
