The University of Southern Mississippi’s Student Counseling Services is looking for a psychologist to add to its multidisciplinary counseling team.  This individual will provide psychological services to clients of Student Counseling Services (SCS), assist the director with administrative services regarding service provision, as well as provide clinical consultation to SCS counselors and other agencies within the University.   

This psychologist will assist the supervising psychologist in providing clinical supervision of practicum students and interns.   This individual will also assist in the interface with other University offices which provide services to students, particularly those in Student Affairs such as Residence Life, University Police Department, Health Services, Student Development, and Dean of Students.  Psychological services to Student Counseling Services (SCS) clients include individual personal-social counseling, marital and relationship counseling, group counseling, relaxation training, crisis intervention and management, academic skills training, psychological assessment, outreach programming, referral, intake assessment, diagnosis, and case disposition/management. This individual will also assist in coordination and providing services for University emergencies that are psychological, social, and emotional in nature 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a rotating basis.

This psychologist will provide clinical consultation to master's level counselors as needed and provide consultation services to faculty and staff, particularly as they pertain to services to students.

Minimum qualifications are a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology,   Mississippi licensure or license-eligibility in MS with the ability to attain licensure in MS within one year of employment; as well as at least two years experience in the work field.  Preferred qualifications include experience working with adolescents or college-aged populations.
