University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) is a merged health and counseling center that provides physical health, mental health and wellness services to enrolled students. UHCS is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The mission of UHCS is: Building the foundation for life-long learning and wellness by providing high quality physical and mental health care, outreach, and consultation for our diverse campus community.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and administration of UHCS (e.g. supervising physical and mental health care delivery; managing human, fiscal, and physical resources; and assuming institutional responsibilities). This includes fulfilling our mission statement through providing a full range of physical, mental health and wellness services. UHCS services are directed primarily to students but faculty and staff also receive services via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The UHCS philosophy is to focus on both intervention and prevention, and as a result, offers a wide array of direct care, educational outreach, wellness and holistic programs and services. All services and programs are in accordance with AAAHC standards.
Terminal degree in psychology (PhD, PsyD) with licensure and a demonstrated ability to meet the supervision needs of an integrated health, counseling and wellness center. Must provide evidence of leadership ability; interpersonal skills required to interact at many levels within the university and health care communities; management skills; teaching and facilitation skills; and consultation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated collaborative relationship and leadership skills are required.
Extensive experience in an integrated medical and mental healthcare facility. Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs of a college healthcare facility. Demonstrated management experience and the ability to understand and implement state and federal healthcare regulations. Demonstrated understanding, commitment to, or experience with under-represented groups and initiatives that enhance inclusive environments. Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets Demonstrated experience with data analysis, program development and outcomes research. Experience in higher education desirable.
