The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY announces a tenure track Assistant Professor position in APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program, which also includes an MPCAC-accredited M.S. degree. This is a full-time (9 month) tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. Salary range is competitive dependent upon qualifications. Summer teaching opportunities are generally available. In a continuing effort to enrich its academic environment and provide equal educational and employment opportunities, the university actively encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups in higher education. While the area of scholarly focus is open, we are particularly interested in candidates with a professional identity as a scientist-practitioner with demonstrated interest and skill in integrating cultural and individual diversity and multiculturalism in both the scholarship and practice of counseling psychology. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the Department’s strong multicultural, urban emphasis, and to contribute to instruction in the doctoral program in counseling psychology as well as to master’s programs in school and clinical mental health counseling. A Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program is required. Evidence of achievement in as well as promise of scholarly productivity is required. Eventual eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin also required. While the area of instructional focus is open, expertise in the areas of multicultural counseling and/or supervision preferred. This is a continuous recruitment. The Search Committee will review applications beginning January 2, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled. However, applications received after January 1, 2018 may not receive consideration. The position start date is August 20, 2018.
