Mentoring Committee

The purpose of the SERD Mentoring Committee is to formally
develop and acknowledge mentor/protégé relationships among
psychologists and emerging professionals in the field of counseling
psychology field who are committed to issues related to ethnic and
racial diversity.
The committee focuses on mentoring relationships in the following
three areas:
(1) academic faculty,
(2) clinical professionals, and
(3) counseling psychology students.
The committee assists in connecting professionals and trainees who are
interested in being a mentor, a protégé, or both. The mentoring
committee focuses on establishing connections amongst academic and
clinical professionals and students in the following three ways:
(1) students to faculty,
(2) early career (pretenure) faculty to later career (tenured)
faculty, and
(3) early career clinicians to experienced career clinicians.
The committee includes:
Janice Jones, an Assistant Professor at Cardinal Stritch
University in Milwaukee
Denise E. Francis Montano, a staff psychologist at Counseling
& Consultation Services--University of Wisconsin-Madison
Lewis Schlosser, an Assistant Professor at Seton Hall University
Arapana G. Inman, an Assistant Professor at Lehigh University
Sara Cho Kim, a doctoral student at University of
Wisconsin-Madison
Frances Shen, a doctoral student at Southern Illinois
University-Carbondale

A Call for Mentors and Protégés!
Hello Colleague-
Happy New Year! The SERD Mentoring Committee
would like to invite you to become a mentor to an emerging
professional in the field of counseling psychology who is committed to
issues related to ethnic and racial diversity. Our committee focuses
on establishing mentoring relationships in academic faculty and
clinical professionals; and we will assist with connecting you to
trainees.
The process is relatively easy and you can
determine how you would like to spend your time with a protégé. Our
Mentor Request Form can be completed on-line (see below).
Thank you for your commitment and assistance in
making a difference in our future as psychologists. If you have any
