APA President Nomination Ballots will be arriving in your mail in the next week or so. We have exciting news for you, one of our own, Dr. Melba Vasquez is running this year for President of APA .

Melba served as President of the Society of Counseling Psychology from 2001-2002. She is currently in the third year of a three year term as a member at large of the APA Board of Directors. Previously, she has served as the President of our APA Division 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women) and the Texas Psychological Association. She has strong leadership experience throughout APA , she knows the organization from many angles and will bring this experience to APA if elected.

She is a strong believer in psychology’s ability to help shape the changing world in which we live. She believes that together we can enhance opportunities for psychologists to apply their unique skills to improve lives, meet society’s needs and confront the challenges of change.
