Statement
I am pleased and honored to receive a nomination for Secretary of
the Society of Counseling Psychology. I believe my experiences
serving on several committees for the Society has prepared me to
step quite seamlessly into the position of Division 17 Secretary. My
experience as a member of the Hospitality Committee for the 2007 APA
Convention in San Francisco and Chair of the Hospitality Committee
for the 2008 Convention in Boston has given me the opportunity to
work very closely with SCP leadership. These roles have prepared me
to work collaboratively with the Executive Board in monthly meetings
and ongoing projects. It is my observation that the SCP is an
efficiently and smoothly run division. In my role as secretary I
would welcome the opportunity to support the presidential trio,
officers, sections, and special interest groups as well as the
entire membership. As secretary, I will dedicate my time and hard
work to support the division to ensure that SCP continues its
tradition of effectively
bringing together psychologists, students, professional and
international affiliates who are dedicated to promoting education
and training, scientific investigation, practice, diversity and
public interest in professional psychology.
